I always enjoy heading north and visiting with our Brazilian, Portuguese and Cape Verdean friends in New England. This year was especially meaningful because I was able to bring my wife with me and introduce her to our churches. Our pastors kept me busy as they scheduled me to preach at six churches in eight days. It was wonderful to connect with the people again and to share the Word of Truth with our congregations. I want to thank Pastors Cleber and Sueli, Pastors Eduardo and Dircea, and Pastors Hudson and Sandra for their warm hospitality. They welcomed me into their homes with open arms and treated me as one of the family. Of course, the food is always good on these special occasions, but what we really treasured was the genuine fellowship we experienced as we talked together and did things with one another. It reminded me of the hospitality we read about in the book of Acts.
As I stated in a previous Thank You letter, one of the highlights of our time in New England was the joint Worship Service the Board of Directors held together with the area’s Brazilian pastors and their families. We worshiped together, celebrated the Lord’s Supper together, prayed for one another, listened to special music, and heard from God’s Word both in Portuguese and English. It was a true blessing to share this experience, and to leave once more with a sense of genuine fellowship.
